  • Sometimes it is the little things that make your day. This soap, they had me with the word “chai”
  • those anemia headaches (iron-deficiency) headaches I mention now and again? …turns out they were migraines.  Turning the page on a new chapter, it seems.  At least there is medicine that works (hopefully) for this.
  • Pinterest continues to be a greatest love=time-suck.  Have you ever actually done anything you’ve pinned?  I am a step closer, I went out and bought an apple corer and gluten-free pancake mix to make these neat apple rings I have pinned…but, haven’t actually made them yet. I’ll keep you posted.
  • the reality of homeschooling 5 kids, two of them being highschoolers, the normal busyness of family life and my migraines have really kicked my rear lately…feeling a bit overwhelmed.
  • it rained today here in the OC!  Yay!  It seems like most of our rare rain happens at night. I got to wear my snow boots today (:  I bought them last year in Washington, they make good rain boots, too.
  • currently I have chickent tortilla soup in the crock-pot, and I am about to go mix up some blueberry corn muffins right this minute.
  • Hope your week is off to a happy start! <3

I LOVE Chicken Tortilla Soup. My husband’s dad still lives in Long Beach, CA and whenever we go visit him we got to Hoff’s Hut for chicken tortilla soup..and there is a See’s candy shop nearby…LOVE it!

We started a Pinterest board for Three Thinking Mothers :) But I have yet to do anything that I have pinned.

I love that photo of the dancing girls legs in your margin :)

Hope the migraine meds work for you!

Hi Renee,

thanks for the follow! I stopped by your blog, very nice! I loved seeing your photos of your borax crystal project, we’ve done that one also! I found it much easier than trying to make sugar crystals.

I’m sorry you’ve been getting migraines :( I hope the meds will work for you & you’ve been able to find a good doctor. I’ve been battling migraines for a long time. Have you been able to figure out what some of our triggers are? My problem seems to be I have a lot of triggers, and as soon as I get three or more I’m down with a migraine. Some I can control, some I can’t – like weather or sleep disturbances, stress. Feel better!

Sennie,

thank you, I haven’t had a migraine yet since getting medication. I don’t know what my triggers are, I will have to start a journal to try to track it. I do know that the worst one ever hit as I was walking out to my car to go visit relatives for a belated Christmas celebration, and I was anticipating drama. My Dr. said stress can trigger migraines. I don’t think I was stressed with the one before it, but maybe I was…. My sister gets them and she thinks her trigger is caffeine. I would be sorry if it is that, because I dearly love my diet coke, but then again, maybe it would be for the best if I gave that up…

I hope and pray that your migraines go away,

sending good thoughts your way….

Hope you have relief from those migraines. The hubby had them and was glad for IMATREX…(my friend calls it “I’m A T-Rex” and there are reasons for that!) but has actually had better luck when they put him on a minimal high blood pressure medicine. Less long business driving trips helps, too!
Blueberry corn muffins sound good. I’m working on typing up some recipes for some books I’m giving for shower gifts in the next month or two. Always looking for good food!!

Hi Karen,

so far, I haven’t had a migraine since seeing the Dr. He gave me Maxalt and then, if it is too expensive with our insurance, he gave me Imatrex. Huh, you’ve got me wondering what the T-Rex qualities of the drug might be?? I’m going to keep a journal to try to figure out what the triggers might be.

the muffins are really good, they are my husband’s favorite!
